Most of us experience distress during our lives and seeking support should be natural and easy. Jo’s approach is relational and with purpose. Jo finds it useful to monitor change and results to ensure that the client is getting what they need from their counselling journey.
Jo’s counselling approach is pluralistic, mainly encompassing Person-Centred Therapy with Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Jo holds a Bachelor of Counselling Degree and upholds herself to the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) Code of Ethics of which she is currently a member.
Jo believes the best therapy is a combination that suits the client depending on where they are at and the style that will resonate with them to help them move forward into their more positive future.
Extra curricular activities
Outside of her private clinic work Jo is the Community Advocate for the Nelson Tasman Multiple Sclerosis Society. In this role Jo enjoys visiting their members in the community and being the conduit to connection with each other and to the local services, private and public that may be required.
Jo also has a passion for riding her gravel bike with her partner and going for walks with their dogs. Jo has two teenage boys who also keep her rather busy.
